To Drink or Not to Drink

Many conservative churches, including Baptists, have a history of staunch opposition to alcohol. There are moral and historical reasons for this opposition that date back to the Temperance Movement of the 1800s. Today, however, some are calling this into question and are urging freedom of conscience. What exactly does the Bible say about alcohol and how is our decision to use or abstain to be arrived at?
