The Cowboy Church of Ellis County is located at 2560 US-287 North just outside of Waxahachie, Texas next door to the Ellis County Expo Center. Our church is made up of 2 tan metal buildings connected to each other by a covered walk way, with a covered arena out back. There is a large American flag flying just in front of our main building and the silhouette of a cowboy kneeling in front of a large wooden cross adorns the front of our parking lot.

Upon arriving you will discover a large gravel parking lot out front. If it is full, there is more parking behind the main building. People with disabilities will find a large series of paved parking spots right in front of the building. There is also a place just between the two buildings where elderly or disabled people can be dropped off. This drop-off point is always manned by two or more Cowboy Church greeters. They will be happy to assist you with a wheelchair or to direct you to where you need to go.

After parking, people without children can proceed directly to our Worship Center. It is the large metal building on the right (or East) side of our property. Families with children will want to proceed to the smaller building on the left (or West) side of our property. There, you will be greeted by our staff who will assist you with signing your child into our nursery or Children's Church. You will be given a sticker with a number on it. This number will be use to alert you if your child needs your assistance while you are in church. If there is any problem, this number will be flashed on a small monitor located just to the right of the stage in our main Worship Center (the large building on the right).

After signing your children in, you will want to proceed to the worship center (the large metal building right next door). You will be greeted on the sidewalk and again upon entering the Worship Center. You will also be given a worship bulletin outlining all of the coming weeks activities. The congregational hymns will be printed on the back of this bulletin.

Once inside the worship center, you will find a place bustling with activity. There are coffee and doughnut bars located near the back of the sanctuary. Feel free to help yourself. Then, just sit down and make yourself at home. At 8:30 or 10:30 a.m. sharp, the worship service will begin. Generally, our order of worship is as follows:Worship Band

  • Everyone will stand and sing a congregational hymn together.

  • Announcements will be made.

  • New Converts will be Baptized.

  • The house band will perform 4 to 6 country or bluegrass gospel songs.

  • The congregation will stand and sing another congregational hymn.

  • A soloist or guest band will perform 2 or 3 "specials."

  • The pastor will get up and preach for approximately 30 minutes and close in prayer.

The older children will come into the Worship Center and sing "Happy Trails." (This marks the end of the service. Expect the service to last about an hour and a half.)

Once happy trails has been sung, parents can claim their older children at the edge of the stage. Nursery age children will need to be picked up next door in the Youth Center. (You will need to present your security sticker to one of our Children's workers to claim your child.)

Remember, at Cowboy Church, there's not a dress code, so dress comfortable!

That's all folks!
